The Loop is both a commitment and a place: people remain responsible for the choices AI helps them make, with a public home at Xavier where they can learn how.

The Place

The Center for Innovation becomes The Loop.

The Gary Robinette Center for Innovation created a home for students, educators, and partners to gather around innovation. The Loop carries that foundation forward with a sharper focus on practical AI literacy, hands-on learning, public conversation, and human judgment. A full-scale mural by Cincinnati artist Matthew Grote will make this next chapter visible on the Center's prominent corner along Dana Avenue, with painting targeted for September 2026.

The Name

Why It's Called The Loop

"Human in the loop" isn't a slogan. It's an engineering principle.

The Loop is Xavier's answer in physical form—a place on campus where people, especially Xavier students, work alongside AI while human judgment remains responsible for what happens next.
